Finding Writing Work

Published by taylorr at 3:20 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

For the past six months, I’ve managed to find a variety of writing assignments to work on via private clients and other resources. I’ve worked on some fantastic projects that required lots of research and I look forward to doing more. This week, I have over 12 articles to complete for my private clients and tons more to write for all the article portals I belong to.

So people are asking me all the time, where do I find the work? Honestly, some of it has been sheer luck, a lot of it has been networking all over the place and writing like crazy. I started with my little Google blog, adding some written samples so I would have something to show potential clients. On top of that, I spend about an hour daily combing the forums, Craigslist, and all the Freelance job sites for any writing ops. I’m relentless!

From word-of-mouth, I got accepted at the following writing sites:

Demand Studios - pay $5-15 per article
Associated Content - pay $2-5 per article with residuals based on how many times people read them.
eHow - $5-10 per article
Bright Hub - $15 per article/ I’m on three “channels”
Triond - similar to AC

So feel free to check out those sites for yourself, there are many more out there too where you can get started.

Next time, I’ll talk about my earnings, how they are steadily growing to the point where I may be able to quit the day job soon!
